TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR OUTDOOR SPACE
After the cold of Winter and the unpredictability of Spring, your guests are sure to be craving some fun in the sun. A deck or backyard is just as suitable a space to host a dinner party as the dining room. Keeping in mind the amount of space available, create cozy seating nooks and functional seating for your guests. Allow enough room for guests to move about comfortably.
Of course, hosting a party outdoors is not without its caveats. A tent or large umbrella provides some coverage from the elements and an aesthetic appeal. Guests will appreciate a basket of summer essentials like sunblock, bug spray, and sunglasses. Place the basket where guests can easily access them throughout the party. Starting the party after sunset evades the summer heat all together and is ideal for more intimate affairs.

MORE COLOR? YES, PLEASE!
Nothing says summer is here like bright, vibrant hues of yellows, greens, pinks, and blues. Don’t be afraid to go all out and mix it up. Adding colorful pillows to outdoor furniture is a versatile and inexpensive way to add a pop of color to your space. Varying colors can be quite easily added to any tabletop with place mats, chargers and napkins. Complement your colors with coordinating glassware and centerpieces. Check your local grocer or florist for summer blooms like dahlias, marigolds, and zinnias. These flowers will add color to any garden or table setting alike.

LIGHTING SETS THE SCENE
Café lights are both stylish and functional for outdoor lighting needs. Place them where your guests will need some extra lighting such as above your food table, bar, or dance floor. Solar lights are great for walkways to light the way for your visitors. Whether indoor or outdoor, candlelight is always a winner.  Place your candles in oversized lanterns for added safety and a decorative touch. LED candles are another safe option and often just as gorgeous.

SERVE IT UP SUMMER STYLE
Drinks that is! Ice cold cocktails are a must have for every summer affair. An outdoor space does not always come with a ready made bar. Create a dedicated space for serving drinks and as the old adage says, if you build it, they will come. A DIY Bar Cart or Pop Up Bar make it easy for guests to self serve beverages. Lay out summer favorites like margaritas,

SUMMER EATS
No party is complete without delicious summer eats. Summer favorites like barbecue and hamburgers are always crowd favorites but easy to jazz up you’re your firing up the grill, consider varying sauces and toppings to make it fun. Serve a few summer treats in bite sized portions that guests can enjoy as they mix an mingle.
An ice cold ice cream cone, nostalgia of childhood. Create your very own ice cream bar or get your local ice cream truck to stop by during the party. Not only will it wow your guests, its sure to cool them down on a hot summer day.
